#3 Weekly Remote Sensing and Geosciences news! π°οΈπ
π’ The Remote Sensing and Geoscience news in 5 minutes.
50th anniversary of the launch of Landsat 1
π°οΈ The Landsat program conceived of in the 1960s, has been running longer than any remote sensing program. The idea was simple: position a satellite in a nearly polar orbit fixed to the solar angle so that each daytime pass would cross the equator at roughly the same local time.

π°οΈ Landsat 1's first image shared with the world was a view of Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. Check it out below! ππΎ

π°οΈ USGS made a special video to celebrate the 50 years of this mission. Check it out below! ππΎ
Course: Python for Everyone by ESRI
π©πΎβπ»π Do you spend a lot of time repeating workflows, such as copying data, editing files, and setting up map documents? This course provides the building blocks you need to use Python. You will create and run scripts using these building blocks, and you can apply them directly inside ArcGIS and to your own workflows.
GOALS:
β AutomateΒ geoprocessing tasks;
β CorrectΒ common scripting errors;
β ChooseΒ the Python scripting environment that meets your needs;
β ApplyΒ Python syntax rules when writing scripts.
π Online
β° 3 Hours,Β 30 Minutes
π The course is free!
